Project
Experimental poetry project, experiment in multimedia.
Recently I’ve gathered together poems that have been lounging around contributing nothing, eating all the grapes. Some of them for decades.
Then I typed up the ones that were on paper only, finished a couple that never quite worked, and named the files chronologically.
There are over 75 items. Mostly short poems, three rants and two long poems in the “Aussie bushman” style. Context is everything.
Performance
My first thought was to do an experiment with a small audience.
I organised a small gathering of about twenty people and we had a grand old time with them choosing poems, me choosing poems and I would give a brief snapshot of time and place then read the poem.
Then I decided to make a small video of the words scrolling down the screen, and put it on the website.
Now you can see the words as I’ve arranged them on the page.
Digital presentation
So now, I have organised the material into “six packs” of poems to read and hear.
Share them with the world and/or friends and family.
Bermuda daze
Ah the seventies and early eighties!
What hopes, what dreams.
What pitfalls, what disappointments.
